I wanted an epic battle complete with tears and divulsions. Liz ends up having an affair with the man who starts solving some of their money problems, but things quickly go south when everyone involved starts running in the same circles.
The characters were very one-dimensional. Frankly, I read this over a month ago and any significant details escape me.
It appeared to me as all the dreams come crashing down that our unlikeable characters win out. The selfish people stayed selfish. Her stories are always fun and predictable.
