No trivia or quizzes yet. I picked it up based on recommendations on Goodreads. Malladi’s other books a try in the near future. All in all, I liked it, and will give some of Ms. Emotions, insecurities, expectations and even our cultural baggage which moderates the way people think and behave is brought out really well. Having a glimpse into the life of woman in India as she enters an arranged marriage which is loveless or the fear of a mother who might have to live with a son and daughter-in-law who hates her are extremely interesting.
Though you can see that this is changing for them too, it isn’t so much the norm as it once was.
The story starts with the Bhopal gas disaster in Do give this a shot, TGND. It’s a stirring story that I relate every time plant safety issues come up. There are no big turns or twists in the plot An emotionally charged story! Too nice of a man to exist in reality. This amulta the last book by Amulya Malladi I read, and she doesn’t disappoint.
He remarries and has a nice upper middle class existence that differs greatly from the carefully frugal life Anjali and Sandeep live. The title is especially relevant too- through mallladi the story, even at the very end.

Too heart-wrenching for amulyx taste. It wasn’t a happy ending, but a perfect ending because someone gets their last request granted, and you are going to have some tears about it too.

Anjali questions her decision to view spoiler [divorce when her ex-husband resurfaces. Years later there lives intertwine again. Told in alternating first-person sections narrated by Anjali, Sandeep, and Prakash, the novel jumps back and forth in both time and perspective, but the story it weaves is still tight and focused, the emotional strands varied but rich in the complete picture they create.
I would recommend it to anyone. How she makes peace with herself and with her parents who have never approved of either her divorce or her second husband, how she reconciles her dual roles as a working mother and wife and how a single event changes thousands of people forever are the themes explored in this book.

Mlladipages. It does not bother her that she has so little material things, because she is a strong woman. Something was wrong, my mind screamed wildly as I, along with the others, tried to seek a reason for the tainted air we were breathing.
The road hadsturned into a giant parking lot. I especially enjoy how the author has entwined real stories such as the tresh leak and the assassination of Indira Ghandi into the fiction of the story. Anjali’s struggle to deal with everything life has thrown at her when Prakash keeps interfering in her life and causing her more grief is moving frseh easy to relate to.
